Tim Newman, Campaigns Assistant, International Labor Rights Forum
Last week, labor rights advocates from Lesotho, South Africa and Kenya visited Washington, DC to talk
about the impact of U.S. trade policy on workers in sub-Saharan Africa. The trip was based around the release of a report by the Netherlands-based Center for Research on Multinational Corporations (SOMO) titled "Footloose Investors." The guests appeared on two radio shows on the KPFA radio station in California's Bay Area.
Steve Ouma Akoth of Kenya appeared on Walter Turner's show Africa Today to talk about the garment industry in Africa and the recent elections in Kenya. Listen to the show here.
Esther de Haan of SOMO and June Hartley from South Africa appeared on Against the Grain with C.S. Soong to discuss the "Footloose Investors" report. Listen to the show here.
